Who 's next for Badr Hari ?
June 3rd 2009 14:08
Badr Hari the"Golden Boy" is today one of the most famous and in the same time the most controversial fighters.
After his dramatic loss of patience in the 2008 K-1 finals where he has pushed Remy Bonjansky on the ground, and kicked him in the face, he seemed to have lost it all, but his large number of fans, as the K-1 jury has finally decided to withdraw his previous Heavyweight Champion belt and also all financial benefits of every fight he fought for K-1 in 2008. But in the same time he could still manage to remain one of the most celebrated fighters of K-1 .
The moroccan muay-thai figher, who lives and traines in Amsterdam first did not seem to realize much he had to lose, but only after the jury's decision and he really seemed to lose it all then, but not his nerves. In the end of the K-1 finals he stated in his post-fight interview that he doesnt really care he lost the finals, because he has previously defeated such big champions as Peter Aerts himself -who wants a rematch ever since - He then crowned his fatal ending of the year by receiving a brutal KO from Alistair Overeem, who wanted to fight Hari mainly because of his bad manners ,when he has announced at the end of a DREAM MMA championship , that he finds MMA "boring and if anyone want to see real fighters come to see K-1"
During the press conference we could see a relaxed and focused Badr Hari, not the old "bad boy with bad manners" who has indeed spoken about Semmy Schilt with much respect.
Their match was short but good, Schilt went on the ground twice, the second time remaining there for too long. There is already talk about their rematch, and everyone wonders how Hari will continue now in the K-1 or for "It's Showtime" and about when he will win the K-1 Grand Prix Tournament. Maybe next year.
